Holy fuck, I am so pissed (car related)

So, on the morning of 3/4, my wife's 2002 BMW 325i sport wouldn't start properly and a tow truck was called to my house. I rode in with the tow and was 2 hours late to work. The electronic throttle body motor was replaced the same day and I picked the car up that afternoon (they put me in a loaner). The car drove fine Thursday afternoon, Friday, Saturday, and rested Sunday. On Monday 3/8, the car died *again* as my wife was pulling into the parking lot (on a hill) at her office. She rolled backwards nearly into the busy street (Buford Highway), but somehow managed to get in a space. Another tow truck was called, my wife rode in with them (she was the one to miss 2 hours of work this time), and another loaner was handed out. The service advisor said that they forgot to clear some code after they installed the throttle body motor the first time and that's what caused the car to die again of the same symptoms.

Tonight, my wife leaves her office and gets onto I-85. As she is merging into rush hour traffic (going at 65mph), her car dies AGAIN while she is in the center lane. Somehow, she managed to drift through 4 lanes of traffic and made it to the emergency lane. She immediately called BMW Roadside and the dealer, Global Imports. Global told her she was fucked because they were closing. My wife tore the dealer a new asshole over the phone and, one hour later, the head service tech and service manager arrive on the scene with a new car for my wife and a tow truck. I was tutoring kids in my neighborhood during this time and foolishly left my cell phone in the car. I am so fucking angry right now that the car is being towed for the THIRD time for the same goddamn problem  and this time my wife could have been seriously injured or worse because of it. On top of that, the fucking service advisor lost my goddamn front bumper plate (the small painted detachable piece on the bumper that covers the tow hook hole) and promised to order a new part, paint it, and have it to me by friday, 3/12. It never arrived and I left that motherfucker a message this morning asking for a status. He never called. Tomorrow, I will be paying the dealer a visit and I will be skipping my SA's desk and heading into his manager's office. The only comfort I can take in this experience is that my wife is an attorney and she is beyond pissed now. We WILL be getting something out of this

All cars break down, but when it takes a dealer over two times to fix the same goddamn problem, they have a piss poor service staff (read: MONKEYS)

Er, I meant all brands of cars. Not all cars. If it had been fixed properly the first time, it would not have gotten to this point.

BMW service sucks, most BMW owners should know this. Yea, and get your wife to sue the living shit out of BMW, maybe that'll show 'em. And maybe they'll finally make their service as good as mercedes'.

I had no problem with the sales guy I dealt with. I actually went back to see him when I was considering an 03 M3. The service department, on the other hand, has been a horrid experience. They tried to charge me $180 when I just wanted them to rotate my tires (when I brought it in for the 15,000 mile service) because they said that they wouldn't do it without a balance and an alignment :ugh:

i really don't think you have a case in court. if your wife had actually gotten hurt, then you could get something out of it.

at least as an act of goodwill they should offer some free oil changes or some such

BMW maintenance is free for 4 years/48,000 miles. Everything is covered except tires. We will be getting something out of it, trust me ;)

Yeah, it's nice. I still make more money than she does, but I give her another 6 months - 1 year before she trumps me. That's going to be weird :hs:

Yes, I just bought an M Roadster. Not so much for quality, but because there are only a very small handful of convertibles that are faster. :)
