I thought choosing a carry gun was tough, but damn there are a whole lot of holsters to choose from. I need a concealed setup so IWB I'm sure. One problem is that I can't decide whether I want to try appendix carrying, or just carry at 4-5'o clock. And it's kind of hard to decide when I don't have the gun & holster to see if it's comfortable.

I hear lots of recommendations on the M-tac. It looks like a good setup and comfortable, but what are the advantages of having such a large rig, instead of just getting something like the infidel or 2'o clock holster or this

Or the Don Hume one that's only 25 bucks. They could possibly be used for appendix carry also. The Kydex Fist or Bladetech holsters look good as well.

There is no magic bullet dude. Buy a couple you think you like, try it, keep/sell it

I want to try a couple other holsters, but I really like my High Noon Tailgunner.

As said though, it's hit or miss.

If you looking in the way of Kydex IWB, Blade Tech, CompTac, Talon Tactical all make nice IWB.

That looks pretty good, what's the extra piece of leather for? Does it just help keep it from moving?

From what I've seen, it draws easy & reholstering is nice. I'm curious how comfortable it is though too. Probably not good for carrying up front.

Fist makes hybrids so you can do kydex inside the leather, but I don't think I want to spend $100+

I may just order one of the cheaper ones to see how I like it. I could actually get a clip kydex & a clip leather for about the same price as the Comp-tac's.

my talon tactical R4 should be here this week.

I emailed Mike about the possibility of picking it up (he's about an hour away from me) and not only was he gracious about it, he invited me to go shooting with him. nice guy.

I'll take some pics when it gets here, but it's not IWB, it'll be for my IDPA rig.

The pistol range anyway is a nice limestone or something base...I love shooting on that.

Ask him about lighting the range on fire after a SDH class

Only if you're out in the woods. And then you better have a 12 gauge or rifle too. There are definately alot of guns though, we have the best gun laws in the coutry up here.

Do you mind if I ask, what part of alaska? What do you do? What are the job opportunities like, and the cost of living?

Always thought about going up there some day. I have an uncle in Barrow I should visit...in the summer, maybe :mamoru:

Mitch Rosen is a douche and his leather is overpriced, I wouldn't buy any of his stuff. Leather is more comfortable for me than kydex. Don Hume is fine stuff for entry leather. You can get some really awesome stuff from places like Milt Sparks, Gary Brommeland, Mark Garrity, and Lou Alessi.
