Going to order a holster today for my CZ Rami. I've been told the AKJ Concealco ones are very good. I don't have too many options with this gun, so looks like I'm going with them. Anyway, couple questions. I'm going to get it in leather, but do I want a sweat-shield? I've never had a holster before and this one is IWB. Also, what size belt loops are most common with belts, 1.5"? I can order 1.25, 1.5 or 1.75. Any other brands to look for or consider? Also, will the holster grip the gun sufficiently without a thumb break? I want to avoid extras to clear when removing the pistol from the holster. I just don't want the gun to come out of the holster if I was involved in some sort of physical altercation.

    Thanks.

What width is your gun belt? Order that size loops. If you don't have one, 1.5 is a safe bet.

Sweat shield is more like a safe your skin from the surface of the gun shield.

I have a belt, but not one that will work out well with a holster and gun. So I was gonna get one once the holster arrives. So I'll go with 1.5" then. I'll get the sweat shield so my skin doesn't get aggravated then. What about the thumb break?

Retention on CCW is meh. Personal preference for some, personally I think it's one more hindrance between life and death. Of course, I feel the same way about manual safeties.

Go ahead and order the belt now. Order a good belt. Then, you might have to wait. I don't know your clothing style so you might be able to pull off a wilderness instructor belt but I have a double layer leather belt from thebeltman.net. This one, in fact. I've worn it daily for 2 years and can't say enough about it.

Thanks for the info. I usually where jeans and polo shirts or dress shirts. So my belt isn't exposed. I'll check out the links posted.

links? Looking for leather. I was gonna order the one on AKJ's site but they want $83. More than the fucking holster is kinda odd. If I gotta spend that much, thats fine, but I figured I could find one for around $50-$60.

I like the belt man's for a budget belt but any from your holster maker of choice should do. Belt's take a lot of leather. A gun belt isn't going to be like the crap you get at a department store, its 2 layers of leather, the grain running in opposite directions, glued and stiched together so that its very stiff from top to bottom and won't fold onto itself on when loaded with weight.

Eric @ HBE is a great guy. I have a few of his holsters and use one daily. Check his backup time tho, I know a while back it got excessive.

That Aker belt linked is a great option. I used one for ~2 years and it held solid.

thebeltman.net is 3 weeks, iirc. i've never heard a bad word about him or his service. ive had one for two years and had to send it back twice to get shortened, both times turnaround was excellent.

thanks, i started at 340, got down to 222 (i guess technically i lost 118 :o) but i started slacking and gained some back for a number of reasons, none of which matter in the grand scheme of things. i'm working to get back to where i was then ultimately to my 180 goal :o
