Yes, putting Chevrolet badges on Holdens is a popular thing to do in the land Down Under.

The Pontiac look is growing more popular as well, and it really stands out down there.

    Exactly

Aussies have been putting Chevy badging on Holdens for years and years, it's nothing new. Pontiac GTO hoods, grilles and fascias are getting very popular. Holden has just stepped in to get a piece of the action now (and deflate the sky high prices blokes have been paying for the parts).

They will be swapping G8 hoods and fascias on Commodores soon enough I'm sure. Lots of Holden fans love the scoops.

will explain why its a tradition since the early 70's to put chevrolet badges on holdens,

the late sixties and early seventies holdens typically came with the holden 253(4.2l) and 308(5.0l) v8 , certain models came with the chev 307 but most importantly some came with the small block 327 and 350, these where more powerful than the holden blocks , and people would put chev badges on their holdens , its was the "get back" sign to any ford falcon 351 drivers at the time ;)

fast forward how many years later when holdn switched from the old holden 5.0l to lsx motors , it was chev badge mania all over again ;) , plus the fact that these badges where readily available in a modern version because of the middle east cars!
