I just got my 18" bull barrel and was wondering if its pretty easy to modify the original stock (synthetic) or pick up a hogue stock? Also are the hogue stocks longer that the factory ones? I want the rifle to look proportional and not look goofy with only a little bit of the barrel stick out from the stock. Wonder if i should have oredered the 20". Freaking addicting hobby...god damnit

I have searched the forums and seen some pretty badass looking builds. Im looking to keep the gun all black, with a bi-pod. Already have a scope on it.

  2. If you're talking about the Overmold stock, buy it. They're great, and they're not too long. Here's a pic of my 10/22 with a 16" barrel and the stock. As you can see, even the shorter barrel looks fine.

I think the Hogue is pretty good for the money..... Much better than the factory offerings IMO.

Hogue FTW, I wouldn't want it any other way. The factory ruger stock feels like a toy to me.

    Here's mine. That's a 20" barrel, for your reference.
