“I just gave up training professionally for a fight,” he said. “Either you’re a fighter, or you’re not. And every time I train professionally I just get so burned out that I don’t want to do it anymore. So I’m just gonna be in shape and train kinda like how I used to train when I won the jiu-jitsu world championships – just go there in the night, train, and go home. I’m not gonna go push myself to go running and do these thousand rounds of sparring and stuff. I fight best when I’m having a good time and after my last fight I was so burned out by the time I got there that now I’m just gonna take it easy and have fun.”

i think my money's gonna go with hughes on this one for some strange reason........

or Penn could be talking a load of bullshit to try to throw off hughes et al.

That's it, i just talked myself out of betting.

I'm sure I'll come up with some sort of wager with my buddy, who will take Hughes and I will take Penn.

i think this quote affected betting lines pretty significantly...Hughes is now 2:1 favorite over Penn...when lines opened they were pretty much even

I think he's being truthful. Seems like he didn't feel like taking a middle patha nd just toning down his professional training a little. Still, this to me is a good fight.

and Penn is not a faggot :p

that ryoto fight was ridiculous but if you wanna look that far back at his record then you might as well call him the numba 1 the world.

i think penn had his 1 shot at luck and Hughes will slam him, and ground and pound him right back into training hard again lol.

Basically saying Ryan Bennett was the only class act in the MMA media, and that sites like Sherdog would praise him to get him on their shows then turn around and shit talk him when he was off the air. I know it was something to that effect but I forget exactly. I'll try to listen again later when I have time.

why because it's nuts to want to watch GSP and hughes?? what do you have against GSP?
if you notice i address my thoughts on penn's training philosophy as posted by original poster and then follow it up with the fight i would rather see, if you gonna troll read the post 1st.
yes i would like to see a series of GSP and Hughes fights like Randy and Chuck in the LHW division. it's a great match up and it's the fight i'm looking forward too. and in case you're confused again the fight i want to see is GSP vs Hughes not Randy and CHuck since Randy is retired and all. And yes GSP is injured but he is coming back eventually is he not????? do you think he's done? why is it wrong to want to see GSP fight Hughes?

    oh and buy a sub

So, I finaly saw the Penn vs. GSP match last week.

Penn beat the crap out of him in the first round, and GSP just stayed "more active" in the other two rounds.

Can someone explain to me how Pierre won that fight?
