    that is the question....

I hate making these type of decisions. b1600 wont hurt anything besides the wallet. b800 will only hurt when I need more light :wtc:

only bad thing about the 1600 is that you cant really bring the power down as much as the 800 if I'm in a tight location...

I could step with down with a ND, but...I dont want to use extra piece of glass if its not needed.

bingo, the 800 is nice in the fact that you can get LESS light out of it than the 1600. Sounds strange but I've had instances where I wanted less power out of my 1600s

    well thats the thing.

800 offers less power as a whole at full power ( which could be bad if I NEED more full power )

but then the 800 has a lower power than the 1600

no matter what, Im stuck between a rock and a hard place.

seem like the White Lighting X1600 can do lower in power than the AB B1600

but then that difference comes with a hefty jump in price ( about 130 )

why not 1600 and use a speedlite when you need to dial it down?

    yeah.

if you're gonna spend the money spend the money where its most effective.

you already have a solution for when you dont need that much power.

what about when you do? B1600 is the better option.

If you are serious about it, get the 1600.

dildo! you have 4 speedlights!! you just answered your question. Get the 1600. You pretty much need the 1600 to overpower sunlight

    overpowering the sun - 1600

but if you are trying to get shallow DoF - 1600 can be too much.

It is gonna be tricky to get an F1.x-2.x even with it dialed down all the way. Unless you can synch past 1/250th

I like that the WL strobe allows for switching between different modes, effectively making it like 2 strobes in one can
