So a bit ago I had to replace my HD for my G4 iBook because the stock drive decided to do the click-of-doom.

So after a bit of online searching, I found the Hitachi 5K100 80 GB drive to be SWEET!!

Its basically one of the fastest drives, fast access, and super quiet/low heat.

The drive Runs like a dream, and is faster than the stock dirve.

If you are looking into a drive I really recommend this one!

How much did you snag it for?

Im looking at the 7k100 for my mini. Im sure it would cut a significant amount of time out of a laptops battery, but I dont need to worry about that.

I got mine from Newegg for 112.....

I dont see the 80GB on egg right now, but they do have the 100GB going for 145....

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822145092

It looks like I might have to post a commet about the drive through the 100GB section...

But online, they compared this drive to all the other models currently, and it did the best out of all of them. Overall top winnAr...

And I cant stress, how nice the machine runs now, zero lag time compared to the old drive, and together with the ram I had BEFORE the old drive ran out...this beast has a whole new life span....

Spend good money on a HD!! It really pays off in the long run IMO

I've got a 100GB GB HDD in my PB, but I don't know what manufacturer it is.
