Admittedly, I'm not where I thought I'd be at this point. I diet very strictly during the week, but I often go out and drink a million beers on the weekends. I really want to have visible abs. How far off do you think I am from that, weight wise?

I'm happy with my strength gains, and will probably keep the same basic routine for the next few months but vary some exercises and rep schemes etc.

Overall, does it look like I'm working hard enough?

You have some bad gyno, but good progress.
I don't know how you look like that and bench 225x4 when I can barely get 1.

I'd say you still have 10-15lbs to go before you can see abs, but you're so thin everywhere else. Did you lose a lot of weight recently?

Good transformation so far. It's a tough call whether you should start eating more or cut down a bit further to get rid of the gut. If you don't mind the size of your upper body, cut down a bit and stay there for a few weeks before starting a clean bulk.

    Also:
    1) Shave the chest hair
    2) Clean your mirrors

Good progress though, keep on trucking.

it must have just been me, but even a year after lifting the most i did was like 175 with horrible form for like 2.

and i looked a lot better than that.

these kids come in here, not saying youre necessarily lying, saying after 3 months they put up 225 solid for 4  wow.

6 years of lifting and I can do it a max of 15 times on an awesome day.

225x4 is that smith bench of regular bench?

either way good job you're making progress, keep workin at it shit doesn't happen overnight.

honestly drinking alot is going to put a huge damper on your results. it all depends on how bad you want it.

TS, 225x4 is pretty legit. doesnt look like you could put that up esp b/c you dont weigh much either

back doesnt look TOO bad though. leaning out a bit was the best part of ur transformation

Yeah but you started at like what? 140 lbs? I was 225-230 for years...just pushing my whale ass up out of bed was a rep of like 200, you know?

I always use the smith because I dont have anyone to spot me. Based on the responses, I'm guessing that smith bench weight doesnt = real bench weight? I didnt know it made a difference.

I'll give you guys another lift then. I started out doing DB incline w/ 55's x 6. Last time I did it, I did 65's x 8 my first set. :dunno: Does that seem like I could realistically do 225 x 4 on flat regular bench?

No if you did 225x4 on smith i'd guess you could get 205, two or three times, maybe less on regular flat bench. It just doesn't translate well once you get to the real thing because there is so much more to it

Monday is my next heavy bench day, I'll definitely try all the same weights I do on smith on a real bench with someone spotting me. Now I wanna prove that i actually can do it...hope I really can :noes:

Anyways, thanks for all of the comments, and please keep them coming.

Just don't even try, focus on doing less weight and doing it right on a regular bench. I would never even think about benching on a smith, that is completely awkward and a lot easier, be careful.

I was 235 when I started out and it took me a good while before I could move 225 around.

because everything is gyno, there's no such thing as fat. this whole place will always be obsessed with gyno and low test, there's no changing that

ahhhh to do it on a smith machine you need 4 plates, two 10's and two 5's(figuring the bar is about 15lbs) even then it's easier than free weights
