I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself. They didn't have wolf, but they had some German ammo which is what wolf buys and repackages. I was shooting at 50 yards with a 10/22 with a shillen barrel, Hogue OM stock, cheapy scope and volquartsen hammer package. My first several groups were big fat messes, it was either the cup of coffee(without food) that I had shortly before going shooting or my clean barrel, as my groups tightened up more and more as the gun got dirtier. My second target turned out fairly well though. I also got to bullshit with the old retired men that hang out at the range on weekday afternoons.

Out of 10 groups on this target, 7 of them were smaller than a dime. All groups were 5 shots.

Those old guys that were bullshiting with you wanted you in thier pants so you could play with thier hammer package.

  3. What does the SK box say on it? Is it their Match ammo?

It's SK Standard Plus, which according to the all-knowing interweb, is the equivalent of Wolf Match Target.

haha, I wish, it's target ammo, and wasn't cheap either. $6/50. This is my 3rd time ever shooting benchrest, and second time seriously shooting. My groups have improved quite a bit, before, they all had one or 2 rounds that would be an inch or two away from the others.

The 76 year old guy that I was sitting near told me he was going to steal my target and bring it home to show his wife.

At least they were friendly. At the ranges I go to if any women are there they usually get the :squint: look from the geezer crowd.

There aren't ever any cute girls at the range. :wtc:

Hey, if I'm 76 and still making it to the range and hitting the target at all, I'll be pleased.

I've never gotten a grumpy reception from anyone in the gun crowd except for the really mean grumpy rangemaster that is known widely in the greater seattle area as the meanest rangemaster ever. He gave me some advice and then when I thanked him and he saw my groups, he was nice.

Don't worry to much about the brand of .22lr target ammo, run what you can afford and what shoots best in your gun. Personally I run RWS Target Rifle unless some friends give me free Eley.

try to get those groups with walmart bulk ammo.

  19. It's shot similar groups with plain Federal Classic. It's really all about finding what the gun likes. I ran a couple kinds of Eley through it and got awful results.

You see the word 'target' in there? I put that there for a reason. ;) I'm not exactly new to putting holes in paper with a .22 for score...

  21. Is it still Engrish if it's a German company making the weird translation?

    :noes:

I'd be nervous of getting my car broken into. That and I don't have a cargo area cover for the Jeep.
