I was thinking of starting HIIT at the gym on the bike
but I don't know where to start???
pedal like a madman for x number of seconds
pedal like not a madman for y number of seconds
i'm not sure it'd be easy to do HIIT properly on a bike.
hmm that's a tough one, i know a good running workout but no bike
its winter is aussie land raining makes it no fun, plus i'll be able to use that as an excuse not to do it. if its on the bike i have no excuse
Do a regular (non-escalating) interval on the bike. It will take you some time to figure out what speed to set it at so you can do the whole workout without having to adjust the speed. You should be near exhaustion at the end of your high intervals. It's going to be intense, so go ready to work.
Start by putting more effort into using the search button. Saying you have no idea where to start means this is the first place you came, which means you didn't read the stickies or search.
here is a good chart if your just starting out
be easy bro, i started my first time on the bike did 1 min intervals. for 8 mins and it killed me...
i'd say probably start pedaling at a comfortable resistance and pace, and then GO TO MOTHERFUCKIN TOWN ON THAT SHIT for like 30 seconds, then back to calm for 30 seconds, then GO TO MOTHERFUCKIN TOWN ON THAT SHIT AGAIN MOTHERFUCKER for another 30 seconds, then calm for 30 seconds...repeat.
