i went to 1000 calories a day and have lost roughly 30 lbs in the last 2 months. While i wanna keep cutting because i'm still "fleshy", would HIIT be more beneficial than long runs?

HIIT gives you more bang for the buck i.e. you burn more in less time. Keep in mind that being too low below maintainence can result in not only fat, but muscle loss as well.

You shouldn't. And you should eat more, unless you're a 80 lbs anorexic. How much do you weigh ?

was at 225 5'11, now at 193.5, still 5'11 :big grin:

I know i've lost some muscle, and i'm not denying it, but i look a hell of a lot better and feel a lot better than i did when i was 225 with more muscle.

You could still lose weight by eating 2000-2200 cals, you're just messing up your metabolism.

a slow change will ultimately result in less muscle loss if done correctly

Did you do cardio? Also if your diet was shit, then no wonder.

You should hire someone, a trainer over the internet maybe because you're destroying your body and my guess is that you might end up yo-yo dieting or with an eating disorder. Alan Aragon, the guy that did the CutDiet, Alwyn Cosgrove, etc.

That's pretty drastic. I am pretty much in the same boat - 6'1", started at 230 or 225. I started Nov 3.

I am now down to 212 and still dropping, but at a HEALTHY rate. I eat about 2500 - 2800 calories a day and work out 6 days a week - 3 days lifting with 20 min or so cardio, 3 days heavy cardio.

The difference is that my way won't have to change again. If anything, I have trouble eating enough. And I'm not losing too quickly or screwing up my metabolism. My metabolism is speeding up.

Whatever man, I'm just telling you that you ARE messing up your metabolism and probably doing so by playing with your hormone. Whatever you do, you're gonna have to pay a price. One of the choices is your health, the other is your money.
