so i've been doing rippetoe and i like it but i want more size/endurance in the muscles.

i'm thinking of slowly increasing the reps from:
    5 5 3 2 2 5 5 5 (last 5 are work sets)
    to something like
    10 10 8 7 7 10 10 10

every week i'll add a rep or two and not raise the weight. i'm thinking around the 8 rep range, i might need to only workout twice a week instead of 3 times a week.

i'm already eating alot to keep up the normal rippetoe pace, i will have to eat more and get more rest too.

    any thoughts?

Why not give Pur's routine a try? I went to it straight from a 5x5 plan and I love it.

you can just add more reps and keep up the frequency...

if you do heavy weight+high reps+high frequency you're not gonna get anywhere I don't think :dunno:

pur's routine is sweet but it wont work for me right now. i've got limited equipment and time to use it.

one of the things i like about the rippetoe is that it only uses 5+ excercises split between two days and it works the whole body. it's also 5 excercises that i can easily to with the equipment i have.

    squats
    bench
    deadlift
    power cleans / pendlay rows
    standing military / push press

    and pullups/dips/barbell curls

yea i think i'm going to up the reps to a 6-10 rep working set and see how it goes. if i start to lose strength, i'll back off. i'm about ready to start maintaining strength for a bit and maybe diet and lose some fat.

If I were you, I'd keep one da heavy (work to 5rm or 3rm), one day medium (5x5 straight weight), and on the light day, do whatever higher rep range you want.
