nephew is 17 and is either on wrestling lifting program or HIT or both. he says there's no squats in the program, only extensions, leg curls, and leg presses. :ugh:

he's in town for the week and i have none of that silliness. i telled him he can do squats if he wants to workout.

"do you have a YMCA nearby or rec center?"
me "no, you can use the weights out back"
    him "but they're nasty..."
me "you need me to paint them pink for you?"

    lollers

    Wisconsin. Seriously.
My wrestling coach had us squatting HEAVY 3 days out of the week. And then running til we puked our guts out.

Our track coach had us squatting, plus clean and jerks too.

I guess some schools don't want to risk injury at such a young age? And then there are schools that want to win championships. Guess which one your nephew goes to? :mamoru:

Rippetoes is heavy 3X a week, Bill Starr is heavy 2x with one light day (on which you deadlift).

it's better than having them do blinger squats and ending up getting sued by his parents because he has some injury. It's stupid to not have them squat or deadlift, especially in wrestling, but i understand. Public school parents are just waiting for that jackpot so they can sue the shit out of the schoolboard for anything retarded.
