I am thinking about buying a gsr (b18c1).
I want an all motor car (not for racing, just for screwing around town).
How would you go about building a budget highrevving car?
    I was thinking:
    intake
    manifold
    CTR cams and valvetrain
    header
    exhaust
    all the little stuff too

Now... Maybe ITR pistons? Thinner head gasket? Probably get the head reworked too. Any suggestions?

i have a stock GSR too
if you arent going to race it.. why do you need it to upgrade it that much?

first thing i'm going to do is the suspension, then maybe a intake.

Just remember the basics of all-motor engine.

Big-ass cams, very high compression, good flowing head/intake/header, slightly looser tolerances on bottom end, good bearings, highly-balanced bottom end, etc.....

IMO, if you're gonna go all-motor, you might as well go all-out; it's very hard to make decent gains on just the motor (especially hondas!)

you want to take an integra, and do an all-motor around-town car? WHY??!?!?!?

First of all, you lose points starting with an integra. Get something that doesn't scream "I'M A GIRL", "I'M A RICER", "I HAVE A SMALL PENIS", or "RICE!".

Secondly, you lose points with an engine that has to rev high into the RPM band to get any power out of it. If you're gonna go light-to-light, then you need something with low-rpm grunt. Torque is your friend.

    Integra is the anti-torque.

i think swaping the GSR into and integra is a waste of time you couldnt gain more than 75HP and it cost how much?

Too bad they weigh 500 more pounds.

If you want torque then drop a H22A (VTEC Prelude Motor) into an Integra. Then you'll have some punch. Personally I prefer motors with topend powerbands though, because when you wanna go fast you ride the upper RPMs as much as possible. It just makes sense to have the power there. Low end is way better for daily driving though.

ODD....I have an Integra and Im not a girl, not a ricer, and dont have a small penis. He said he wanted a budget high-revving car to screw around town in. An Integra would be fine for that would it not? Preludes do have a bit more torque and thats fine but for what hes doin to the car y not just get the Geeser, theyre prolly getting a lot cheaper to find now a days anyway. Just my .02 since I saw everyone with an unGodly hatred for Tegs on here.

probably an ungodly hatred because it's really not a very good car -- at least not for what the majority use it for.

    94 GSR - ~2765 lb's

    94 Prelude Si - 2765 lb's

They weigh about the same dumbass.

But I agree w/ dropping the Prelude motor into an Integra, but the 2.3 will be "torquier".

And area under the curve > top-end only power

H23 is torquey and so is the H22, the H22 is obviously better top end though, it has 190 hp whereas the H23 has 160. I have a H23 lude btw :o

My buddies got a 92 civic hatch with those exact mods and is it ever a fun car to drive. Except his is more of an auto x car with suspension, rollcage and all the other fun stuff :bigthumb:

if you're going to take the time to upgrade the valve train, do a JUN 2 or something.
You should get a JDM Integra type R header.
If you're going to make this a high revving car, you should drop in a B16 tranny to keep those revs high between shifts.

That header and tranny combo alone is pretty sweet. It makes the car alot more fun to drive around town. Although I did have a limited slip diff too.

The reason I want to do this is because I own an 11 second Mustang. It is my daily driver too. Oh, and it's all motor. :o I am spraying it in spring.

that actually PROVES my point... it has torque... Integra does not. Move on to something better.

My point was that he was not a ricer, but that the integra is only good for rice. The fact that he owns an 11s mustang proves my point that TORQUE is what you need.... not a high-revving bumble bee.

I never said I wanted to race this car. I just wanted something to screw around town in and wont rape my gas. Why would I need a lot of torque driving in traffic? :o

actually, traffic/city driving benefits more from torque than hp. Torque is what gets you moving...

Eh, A stock ITR will run me about the same as a nice used 350z. And I wont have to worry about it getting stolen. I might just do that...
