I'm looking to add a sub to my current rig...Let's go "audiophile" here. Not fat booty bass, I want a sub that is tight, articulate, and extremely fast and balanced response. Adjustable xovers would be nice, but I can always whip something up myself if need be. This will be paired with my Vandersteen 2Ce Signiature speakers. I was thinking along the lines of the Velodyne DD-10 or DD-12. recomendations in a similar price bracket ($1500-$2000)?

I've always been a big fan of M&K subwoofers. Their MX series are excellent and I haven't heard one I didn't like.

I was looking at SVS subs a while ago, but after demoing one along side a velodyne, I wasn't impressed. This room is around 4000cuft.
