    Yeah.... :hsugh:

Was smoking 2x daily for over two years, and it's been about 2 months now since I've used crystal, except for 1-2 single uses during that time w/ friends.

No rehab, no counseling, nothing like that. Just moved home with the folks so I wouldn't have access to crystal or money, then just slept it off for a couple weeks. :hsughno:

Anyhoo......... just thought I'd share. :hs: :wavey:

Dude, its nuts how long people sleep when they come off meth. seriously insane! well its just as insane on how long some people stay awake! I have a really hard time staying awake past 24 hours!

When I was in rehab, my "roomy" was in there for meth and he said he'd stay up for almost months at a time, then sleep a couple weeks, ect.

    fucking insane!

oh yah, grats dude! do you feel better now that your off? can you tell the difference?

I was on H and now that i have been off for 8 months i love life, and have so much money now :p
    hehe

Keep them from having access to money/crystal or people who might give them those things. My folks are 50 miles from my dealer, so without money for gas (not to mention money for crystal), there was no way for me to get any.

He's gonna be really tired and really depressed for a couple weeks, it's just a matter of getting through those weeks. I found alcohol and weed helped greatly. :hsugh:

The first year, I'd be able to do 3-4 days at a time, but any longer than that, and I'd just be a zombie. After the first year, I could barely do 2 days straight without having to go to sleep; but then again, I didn't use a huge amount. Maybe about $40 every week or so.

weed is better than meth. If it satisfies a need for a high, then cool.

My friend was a crack addict for the longest time. He started hanging out with me more often and he quit crack and he became a pot head. I guess that beats being a crack head. At least it wont permanently damage you and its easier to quit when you decide you have had enough.

This forum is about RECOVERY. You can come back when you can help someone with a problem.

its legal in some countries so I don't see the big deal. People who listen to lawmakers and avoid the substance are those who are part of the problem with the war on drugs.

I agree that stopping use of everything is good for a person. However, I personally believe in doing everything I can to protect the purity of my body. I still smoke marijuana but I feel it is the habit that keeps me away from worse habits. It satisfies my need to do something devious and gives me something to get off on.

 this is exactly what makes me hesistant to try to get sober, because i know most of the assholes i meet in NA and 12 steps bullshit are going to be like this. instead of being happy for someone quitting meth, they attack him for smoking weed. We get it: you are sober, and life is soo much better, and you couldn't be happier. Good for you, no point in making everyone else feel like shit though.

    it isnt in this one

alcohol is legal too, what would you tell an alcoholic? Go for it?

I'd tell him to respect his limits. A bit of alcohol = fine. A bit of pot = fine. A bit of meth = no.

    Understand?
