get your fatasses into shape

I am doing this stuff + some extra lifts for the next few weeks as part of my overall training system. I am in the whole functional hypertrophy/muscle endurance phase so crossfit works well. Anyone else want to try it? Fags :hsugh:

    CLIFFS:

    What is Crossfit?

CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.

Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.

The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.

The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.

Thousands of athletes worldwide have followed our workouts posted daily on this site and distinguished themselves in combat, the streets, the ring, stadiums, gyms and homes.

We also publish the CrossFit Journal designed to support the CrossFit community detailing the theory, techniques, and practice used by our coaches in our gym, in essence bringing your garage or gym into ours, making you a part of the CrossFit family.

We offer seminars, trainer certifications, and training and regularly provide consultation services to athletic teams, coaches, and police and military agencies throughout the free world.

    :p

this is one of the better ways to train for martial arts, especially grappling. I have an overall program structure that goes from this crossfit and power endurance stuff > limit strength (me lifts) > power production (de lifts) > speed strength (plyo, drops eccentric overloading) > endurance

they all look easy to me until I do them

for example...the other day i did the 75 "thrusters" (front squat+push press)....they recomended 95 pounds so I used 135 b/c I am so tough . I had to stop after 15 and then it took me about 8 minutes to do all 75. I say give it a try before you decide how easy it is. I think this kind of thing maps better to a mma fight than a lot of other training methods.

I actually posted a link to this here a while back, never gave it a try though. I'm thinking maybe after a few more months on starr/christophers routine I could do this for a while :dunno:

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.
