I know there are a bunch of you here that use TrueCrypt. I am thinking about using its full disk encryption option. Has anybody used to before? How did it work out? A friend of mine has PointSec on his work computer and he has to put in a password for that to get it to boot Windows. Will TrueCrypt have a setup similar to that?

Here is the system that I will be encrypting:

    Lenovo Thinkpad W500
    C2D T9400
    3GB DDR3 RAM
    320GB 7200rpm HD
    256mb ATI FireGL video
    Windows Vista Business

It's good, fast and i've had no issues.

Depends how you set it up, you don't have to encrypt your system partition in which case you wouldn't need to enter a password when booting. You would only need to enter a password and possibly point the program to a file to mount the drive/file that you have encrypted.

System really doesn't matter too much, you can use encryption on any system really.

I will be, and it will depend on the algorithm(s) used.
