Hey guys, I'm not that good with computers. Can someone help me with this RAM Q?

Will an ULTRA DDR MEMORY 1024 MB PC3200 DDR 400MHz work on a Dell Dimension 3000?

Details in the Memory part of the desecription of the 3000:

Up to 1GB (dual channel) Shared1 DDR SDRAM at 400MHz for superior performance (Note: 400MHz memory performs at 333 MHz with 533 FSB processors).

OK so the 1GB and 400Mhz part of the desciprion fits, but what is this "Shared" thing? Does it mean it only supports dual RAMs and single RAMs?

Short answer: Yes, that memory will work with your computer.

I take it you're replacing the 512M of memory it came shipped with?

The info on that page just lists the most memory that computer will ship with, not the most it can handle. The moterhboard on that computer has two DIMM slots, so theoretically, you could plonk two 1Gig DIMMS in there and get 2Gig of RAM total. There should be no reason why the motherboard or the Operating system wouldn't make good use of it.
