So sorry to invade your subforum here but

just wanted to say thanks to all of you who have served/do serve/will serve. I know I'm just some random dude on an internet forum and none of you actually know me, but I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate everything you do for our country. Your service is something that I've been trying to make sure I think about every single day, and every single day I realize how grateful I am to all of you, in any branch of the military, for what you do for us. You put your lives on the line, you give it your time and your energy, and you ask nothing in return for it. I love all of you, and I hope you all stay safe and well. God bless you :)

Well I actually work for a defense company, I'm in project finance.

I just don't think I would ever have the courage to fight in a war. I do my small part by helping produce equipment to keep our troops safe.

But I don't even think the jobs of every single person I work with combined are as important as the job of just one member of our armed forces. I sit here in my comfortable office in front of a computer screen all day while other peopel are out being shot at, attacked, and putting themselves into harms way for their country. I don't forget who I owe thanks to, and I never will.

yeah, i know that most people who serve probably do not expect to hear thanks or require thanks.

it's just been on my mind a lot over the past few years and i finally decided it's time to put it into words, even to the mere handful of people serving we have on OT.
