Just curious what the HG250 stacks up with compared to COC's grippers. What about the HG300? Anything inbetween the HG250/300 that could help me bridge the gap from another manufacturer?

First thing to remember is that grippers vary. Some more than others. HG particularly the HG300 seem to very more than others. That being said.

My HG250 was almost dead on with my CoC#2. It felt different, which is hard to discribe without being able to campare both side by side. But the close was almost the same.

There isn't anything out there that would fill the gap between the 250 and the 300 as the 300 is generally a theoretical CoC 2.5

I have 3 HG300s and all of them are tough. I have one that is just a bit easier than my #3 and my easy one fits rght where it should as a 2.5. But I have heard of some that have seasoned (broken in) and ended up being well easier than a CoC #2. Those ones really are defective.

Hmmm guess I have to just keep plugging away. If an hg is a coc 2.5 I doubt I'll ever close a coc 3. I can get the 300 about half way closed maybe a little over half on a good day.

thats the best way to go about it. Just keep working at it. Even if you can't close it squeez the shit out of it and sooner or later the handles will touch.

Yeah, to be honest at one point I never thought I'd be able to get the 250 to close.

If you've gotten the HG250 to close you may want to invest in a #2. Just to see how it campares. And there is always a chance that it might end up being a good inbetweener.

one caveat though: i wont be able to ship them to you till about January 5th if you do purchase them. I left the grippers at my dorm room.

CoC's go for 15-18 dollars shipped depending on the condition.
