All of them with a Canon SDxxx of some sort. All of them are untouched other than changing the resolution to something more forum-friendly.

Most were taken in SF (Japanese Tea Gardens, Coit Tower, etc.)...I have other ones, but they're on a different computer.

I want to get a DSLR...do I have the raw talent for it? I don't want to be one of those people who gets a DSLR and learns how to use it well, but still takes shitty pictures

Any recommendations on entry-level (and cheap) DSLR's?

it's a nice entry lvl camera, but most ppl on OTAP (including myself) will discourage you from getting it. Also, avoid getting the kit lenses and those starter kits.
For that price, get a Rebel XTi and a nice lens.

it seems like you've got an okay eye for it. if you like to take pictures and want nicer pictures get yourself a DSLR, you don't have to be a professional.

your last pic is the best by far, imo.

beginner dslr's are basically all the same. go and try one out and see how it feels before you buy. i didn't like the canon xti body, just felt wrong, maybe too small in my hands, so i went with the nikon d50. don't feel like you're committing to nikon or canon either, as you learn more and experiment with bodies and lenses you'll develop a better sense of what you prefer.

I really like number two. Try cropping out the bottom bit of it though, it sorta distracts away from the cross.

Feel free to give me more input on the pics...I'm always open to criticism :)

Also, I'd love more recommendations on which DSLR and lens to get.
