This any good? The local treehugging hippy shop has started carrying it and putting it in smoothies and junk. He says it's slower absorbing than whey.

I use some hemp seeds in my cottage cheese and protein shakes. It's a good source of healthy fat.

The protein prob isnt the best, but the omega 6 and 3's are pretty nice, plus all the other nutrients, and I like the taste of it. Put it on a salad or something or in some cereal or oatmeal and you can't really taste it.

there's a lower fiber version that costs more (and also has more EFA's and more protein)

How so? Most plant proteins are very low quality, what is the amino acid profile and net protein utilization?

:dunno: same reason soy protein isn't ideal... it comes from a plant source and consequently may be more difficult to digest. Maybe I'm wrong but I remember reading something that gave a list of proteins in order of how well the body can break them down and actually use them, and it was like

    meat/poultry
    dairy
    fish
    legumes
    grains

probably not an accurate order but oh well. It just makes more sense that if you want useable protein that you'd get it from sources like meat or dairy. Bears eat hella fish and they are mad yoked, lions eat tons of meat and they are jacked to the moon, etc.
