I was thinking that since there isn't a thread like this yet, maybe this could be stickied or something. While people might make an actual thread about what they're going through, it might be easier for them to just talk to one anonymous person on OT instead, who dealt with what they went through.

    I'm 22/male

    I've dealt with/gone through:
Parents divorcing at a young age
    Extreme depression
    Balding at a young age
    Long term relationship ending badly
    EDIT : College drop out

If anyone ever wants someone to talk to, I'm more then happy to talk to them on AIM or through PMs.

I'd be cool if everyone else in here posts the same kind of info, so we all have someone to come to :hs:

Does anyone like the idea of volenteering?

The basis for all of this is ready for me to implement, i just don't know if there is any willingness , its all done by the effort of the people who have shown mercy to give valuable free time to help other people.

the outlines and disclaimer are as following

if you volenteer , you must understand that the chatrooms are NOT moderated, if you therefore get anything thrown at you ,emotionally hurt or dissatisfied there's no way in hell i can help you. The thing is new so susceptible to new rules. That's part 1 of the risk.

The benefitial part is that we can give personal help to people by compassionate talk. This is risk 2 that is involved for those who are in demand of such talk. Im not responsible for the 'quality' of the talk, we arent experts with diploma's, no one asking for advice should expect anything more then a mere attempt/guideline in towards the right direction, and its also not garentee in that that will happen.

So you can see theres a risk in advice giving and taking here.

There, now that i outlined some important aspects i can open those chatrooms, that is if further in this post it will show that everyone likes this idea (just some redirect to some external chat program from another website) (if you have/know any good ones post em in here)

Most important , what does the Asylum think of this idea? What are your objections etc. I've always liked the concept, but im not going to post any e-mail adresses due to the fact that some people from main board might make abuse of it. :hsd:

Since you posted in here, you know I'm more then willing to help. I'm a late night person, and usually around most of the time for anyone.

I think it is a good idea if privacy can be assured. Sometimes people just need someone to talk with and vent.

I think it *could* be a great thing. Would we be anonymous in the chat room?

I'd love to be a volunteer for this and I'm sure I'd probably ask a few questons too. I like this idea because sometimes you need answers instantly and can't wait to get a long response.

If there's enough of an interest in here, I'd be willing to run/host a chat room on IRC. That way, you can make up whatever user name you want to, the room can be private, but we can also talk over "private messages" in the chat room. If I host the room itself, I can make sure it's always locked so random people don't come in, that there's always a responsible person in there, etc.

Honestly, if there's a geniune interest in that, I'll be happy to be the only non-anonymous person in there, just so everyone knows at least one person they're talking to.

To all the people who volenteered in here, your names have been added in the chatroom user list. Thank you sincerely for participating. You can step in or out any time you want.
