I have a friend in DC who until recently was anti gun. He has recently seen the light.

He wants to purchase a shotgun for home defense. I am trying to find out what the laws are in DC regarding bringing in a shotgun purchased in VA. Ownership laws, storage laws etc.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    -TFP

DC gun registration helps lower crime. They haven't seen a murder in that city in decades. :hsugh:

and make sure he never takes it anywhere loaded. like seriously, lock the shotgun up and with ammo on the other side of the car.

i think they like to get you for 1 yr in jail for every round of ammo in the gun. so basically a glock 19 + extended mag would be ULTRA FUN TIME

DC is absolutely terrible. I read a story about an army guy rolling through DC to get to the one hospital for treatment. He stopped for gas and someone saw his concealed carry. He was charged with all this crap, and they finally dropped it to a few fines and losing his carry permit for his state or some crap. The NRA was having a fit and helping him fight it. They wanted to jail him. They charge you for having the weapon and the ammo. :ugh:

also at home it must be unloaded and cased at all times.

I've often thought a true defensive shooting in dc just wouldn't be worth the effort.

just let him rob you. Will be much much cheaper in the long run than defending your home/self

that's what DC wants you to do. let the cops come save you. that's how the liberal utopian world works.

I shoot trap and sporting clays up in maryland a couple times a month. I drive though dc with my benelli broken down in my trunk with a couple hundred rounds of birdshot.

I guess that would be consecutive life sentences

and fuck no I'm not driving around dc.

And in case any noobs or overzealous ATF agents read that, don't do that. It would violate multiple laws and result in FPMITA time
