I'm not a big rifle guy, but I went with him to the range this weekend... He got a little butt hurt.

    My first 4 shots:

Then I shot the quarter we taped up there, you can see his target, and both misses on the quarter were his:

Really made me want to get a bolt rifle. we were there for 3 hours and only shot 40 rounds :mamoru:

I atleast need to get an upper for my AR.

Bolt action rifles rock! I love shooting Mosins and stuff as well. I really want a bolt-action rifle with a scope so I can get super accurate with it. :)

Yeah it was just 100 yards... he has some shitty 75$ scope on it until he gets something better... I seemed to do OK with it, he seems to jerk the trigger on the shot, but he's one those people that doesn't want to be told anything and just expects to be good at everything first try... what's funny is he'll probably by a thousand dollar scope for it, then still shoot badly, then put it away in his closet and move on to something else...

And that's when you offer to take it off his hands at a discounted price :x:

Yeah we'll see. I'd gladly take it off his hands... I've seen the scope he wants to get though, it's a 45X with a single dot reticle..... That would have to go.

He "wants to shoot 600 yards" ... .... higher magnification isn't going to help him here.

+1 on the fun of bolt guns. Even if it's just my Savage .17hmr, one almost always acompanies me to the range.

Stupid question but what caliber is it? .223?

I really want a 700p as well but in .223 so I can get the barrel threaded for my surefire suppressor :big grin:. I love shooting my Marlin .17, but now I want something with a lil more kick and range.

How about some pics of the rifle itself as well?

what's the point in trying to supress a highly supersonic round?

Still makes it quieter, doesn't it? I see ARs silenced all the time.

Because I have a Surefire suppressor for my AR that uses a quick detach mech so it could be easily swapped between rifles. Plus its quieter than a .22, so no hearing protection FTW!

You have never used a supressor have you? To answer the question from experience, depending on the manufacturer and the decibal reduction of the supressor it greatly reduces the noise of a supersonic round as well as in many cases reduces recoil.

30 db is a big decrease(seen several that were capable of this amount), I agree, but that would not eliminate the need for hearing protection, and that's not exactly "silenced" is it? Note that video I sent, look at the 2nd batch of ammo:fawk:
