    Ok Helpdeskers here it is.

I am the Sysadmin for a 65 person company. We have about 75 PCs & 10 servers in 2 different locations(about 1 mile apart).

We are looking to hire a helpdesk/desktop support person, to support our end users. Typical desktop support stuff (Office,Adobe,Printers,Updates) & help out the sysadmin(me) with other fun & fantastic IT stuff.

How much am I going to have to pay someone to do this?

Anyone in Atlanta(Alpharetta) interested in the job?

hmm, just browsing around computerjobs.com, it seems like the average (for a non-contract position) seems to be around $10-15/hr for your area

Depending on experience and education, typical helpdesk positions yield from $7 an hour to $12 or $14 an hour for top tier.

I'd say choose the median ($10 an hour), but of course I don't know how the ATL market is or cost of living factors.

The ATL is a little higher than average. I want someone that is going to be happy to have the job & smart enough to grow to eventually take on larger tasks

 Sounds like a good opportunity for someone.

$10-$12 should be OK. Don't want to overpay someone who is not qualified, so be careful.

in the Houston area the real low end wage slave HD jobs are about $8 and hour and go up to about $12 for decent positions which will attract more qualified candidates.
