I'm still learning the photography past P&S cameras, so any help is much appreciated :wavey:

How do I make this picture spectacular. Either by some helpful tips on composition or PS skills?

If you're going to bump the brightness up that much, you have to resaturate the colors so it doesn't look totally faded out. I also messed with the curves and lightness of blues and greens.

It's going to stay very pixelated because you jacked the brightness up way too much and you can't offset it with contrast because the trees along the road turn nearly black.

The orginal is the best . Why would you want to lighten and bring out details in the road ? Who fucking cares about the road and trees . The main subject is the shuttle.

composition tip number 1...get closer next time...like...much much much closer.

all i see in these pictures is a road and a trail of smoke in the sky. very boring. wait till the next launch and try to get closer.

some of the best pics of launches ive see were done by thsi kid who gets permission to put his camera on a tripod just outside of the blast radius of the shuttle, and remotely fires it as the shuttle takes off.

tip number 1: Don't listen to this guy he doesn't have an av

tip number 2: Take pictures of things which are less gay...there is a undeniable strong statistical correlation between loving spaceships and loving cock....10 out of 10 homosexuals love spaceships

The first pic atcually has some pretty cool colors in it. Heres a quickie in lightroom, with probably too much saturation :o

IMO there just isn't enough composition. My eyes are trailing everywhere because I'm not quite sure what I'm supposed to be looking at. Clearly it's the space shuttle, but all the foreground is way distracting, the smoke trail sort of leads me up into the sky, but there really isn't any point of interest up there. :dunno:

When you take a picture of something, try to make sure the main subject of the photo is the first thing your eye catches. You do this by eliminating unnecessary clutter. It looks like you took a picture of a random street that happens to have a tiny rocket going off in the background. To improve it, you should have either gone closer, or zoomed in more to get rid of the unnecessary stuff (street, cars, traffic lights, etc.) taking up the rest of the picture. Photoshop can help, but it won't turn a picture like this into a masterpiece. Good luck!

it was taken in Orlando (50 miles from where it went off) I grew up in Titusville, where the shuttles go up, so I wasn't about to fight the traffic. I just wanted some tips on composition and how I can improve. :dunno:
