i had missingsync installed and then i appzapped it when i got an iphone. i didn't think to find the uninstaller. so now i have this little running program in the bar at the top. i moved the framework folder to the trash and now the program is gone from the top bar but i can't empty the trash. can i force empty? i've tried option-empty shift-option-empty and it comes up with the prompt "stop/continue" still.

and i can't reinstall either because i don't have a key required for install.

since you tried the force empty already...
try this, it's a couple of steps but usually works.

    1) create a new user in accounts
    2) place what you can't delete from the trash into the shared folder
    3) log out your current user and log in to the account you just created
    4) go to the shared folder and move un-deleteable items to your desktop (ie: out of the shared folder)
    5) move items to trash
    6) log out of user and back into your master account
    7) delete the user account

    no more files :)

    should be rm -Rf ~/.Trash/*
that will delete everything in the trash folder, but not the folder itself.
