I've got an 86 suburban I use for picking up equipment, and today when I go to start it it just doesn't start. When I turn the key to acc everything lights up, radio comes on etc, but when I turn to start the "brake" light on the dash just lights up. No clicking, no attempt to start, just that light. As soon as I let the key go back to acc the brake light goes off. So basically what should be the starter clicking is just the brake light.
Any ideas? Is this even the right forum?

Fixed it today... noticed the key was turning wierd, and eventually figured out it would turn without the key and assumed something was broken. Pulled the whole column/wheel apart and couldn't figure out how to get the ignition out so I ended up with a hotwire toggle. Ghetto as shit but all good now. Thanks guys.
