i have a linksys 802.11b wireless router, and it's worked fine for months. the router is in my roomates room (no cable line in my bedroom :ugh: ) so i get the stupid usb adapter. but now the damned thing never stays connected for more then 5 minutes. it disconnected, then the windows xp bubble pops up and tells me all the avalible networks open, and my network is there, so i connect again. 5 minutes later, it disconnects me.

what the gay is wrong with this thing? should i smash it and take it back or am i missing something here?

Go into the wireless settings for the network and click the advanced tab. Make sure that the check box for "enable 802.1x authentication for this network" is UN-checked.
