I installed some new components in my computer today and now it will not boot into windows.

I had an x850 which I am replacing with a hd-3870. Right after replacing it my computer would freeze as soon as the windows login screen loaded. My first thought was messed up gpu so I went to go back to my old one and my computer would no longer turn on. replaced the power supply and it turns on. some how I messed part of the install up and smoke poured out of my x850. so now I'm stuck with a burnt x850 a hd-3870 that will not boot and a dead power supply.

Furthermore, I thought well maybe it's just a drive issue but when I try to reinstall windows if freezes as soon as it brings up the install menu so I can't use the recovery console and I can't reinstall.

If it is any help here are my complete system specs:
athlon x2 5600+ with stock clock currently
    asus 580x motherboard
    hd-3870 512mb
antec 500w powersupply(I know it's crap but my corsair that I just recieved was doa)
    2 gb of ocz dd2 677 memory
    raptor 150

what should I try to fix my problem?

update went to bestbuy and bought a 2600 pro to see if that fixes the problem. No go. Could there be a problem because I am trying to upgrade to a dx10 card instead of a dx9?

help!!! I'm so lost. Is my mobo fried?

ok I have returned the 2600. i'm going to swap in my old mobo, proc, and mem and see if that fixes it for the time being. I guess no crysis for me.

now i'm going to rock the athlon 64 3500+(yes a fucking single core) 2 gb of ddr1 and a dfi crossfire 3200 mobo
