I got my ASVAB scores back and I was hoping you guys could help me interpret what kind of military occupations they make me eligible for. Any info or advice is welcome.

My main question is: What kind of score does it take to be considered for a fighter/bomber pilot?

    Here they are (percentile scores):

    Career Exploration Scores
    Verbal Skills - 81
    Math Skills - 89
Science and Technical Skills - 81

    ASVAB Tests
    General Science - 82
    Arithmetic Reasoning - 79
    Word Knowledge - 77
    Paragraph Comprehension - 87
    Mathematics Knowledge - 97
    Electronics Informations - 92
Auto and Shop Information - 79
    Mechanical Comprehension - 40

Military Entrance Score (AFQT) - 78

    Thanks guys.

If you didn't at least score a 120, then you are a moron.

the ASVAB does not determine if you're going to be a pilot or not, the AFOQT or its equivalent does.

no, the AFOQT is different test that you take when you are in college ROTC
AFOQT= Air Force Officer Qualifying Test.

Okay. Listen up dumbfuck. You will not fly planes, they might not even let you near a plan, because your an idiot. I'm sorry, more like uninformed. You have to have a minimum of 2 years of College Education to fly a plane, but usually a 4 year degree.

If you want to fly planes, wait till you get to college, then you can figure this out.

OMFG I love seeing these threads. They are my fuel. Here's some advice from someone three years deep in a Professional Aeronautics degree that still can't fly: GO ROTC IF YOU WANT A CHANCE IN HELL! I don't even have to apply to know I can't hack it as a pilot. I would get the boot by the end of the vision test. Then my hearing loss from being a crew chief would kill me. If that didn't, not having a 4.0 GPA would be the nail in the coffin. Otherwise, yeah. Good luck. Go Air Force and pick Aircraft Maintenance Technician. We love your type on the flightline.

anything you hear from a recruiter = not reality
recruiters are fed crap information and will recycle and feed you the same crap. a few months ago, some af recruiter was on here claiming how ther was a critical shortage of air force officers... aint that the truth :ugh:

I think legally you can retake it every 30 days or something, at least in 91 you could:o.

So if you're really concerned about upping your grades take it a few more times for practice etc. Remember though, that it's your last one that counts, not your highest. So if you have a bad test morning and suck it up you could be screwed.
