The library here wants to show 8 or 9 of my paintings for the Month of May. I'm super stoked, but I need to come up with a flyer QUICKLY for the library to use.

Here's my first draft (I have to include the JPL logo). I would appreciate any comment/criticism. The title "Organics" was chosen to describe the organic and life-ish nature of my paintings. (Can you think of a better title? :x:):

Thanks in advance for any insight you can give me :)

Are you able to change Organics to match the font with your name?

I think the rule in design was 3 different fonts or less. I generally stay with one. Two at most.

I think you could use a little color boost to take focus to your name and info.

Otherwise, It's simple and I think it works well!

I usually use 2 also. The logo and tag line at the bottom was a gif I had to add to tHe flyer. I might edit the tag line below the logo to match the Myriad font, if ican keep organics in Optima. Is that fair? I think it looks better as a different font.

I think the title suits your work well and the image you have gone with of the tree-like structures is definately a theme carried across much of your work. I think the flyer looks fine with the 3 fonts

maybe take out the word ART and just have BY MATT J. OLSEN and change teh BY word to be teh same color as the rest?

    too many bold fonts.
Maybe make MATT J. OLSEN bold, but everything else thin.

Also I don't like how there's a random placed word up top... left justified font, right justified font, and centered logo at the bottom. No flow.

But hell i've seen a lot worse

I put all of your suggestions (as well as input from friends IRL) and came up with this revision. I had lots of suggestions for a different name for the show, but none of them fit what I feel my art is.

    Lose the squiggle things.

I think overall you can locally scale all your text down too, let it breathe a bit.

    looks much better already
+1 on the breathing, maybe making everything smaller and space out the letters. The text is tall and scrunched, kinda like a full elevator.

Adjust the kerning and type size or just switch to Myriad Pro's semi-extended or possibly even semi-bold semi-extended.
