help, some keys on my dad's laptop stopped working :(

    hey the keys 8, i, l, and < stopped working on my dad's laptop, it's a dell

    anyone know how to fix it or why it just happened by itself?

    He's going to have to have the keyboard replaced.

    nope, my friend who fixes computers just unplugged the keyboard and plugged it back in and everything works :bowdown:

    shows that OT is worthless :squint:

    for the most part - he would have to replace the keyboard. i've repaired laptops in the past so I know something about them. yes, it is possible that disassembling the unit and plugging the keyboard back in might work, but if I recall properly, when a diagonal line of letters goes out, most of the time it is the keyboard.

    I've replaced my fair share of Latitude keyboards at work.
