I am selling my Macbook Pro. What is the best way to reset everything including removing personal data and 3rd party programs? Thanks.

Put in your OS X disk, when you get to the point that you choose with disk to install OS X on, click on "Options" then click on the option to erase the hard drive then do a fresh install

grab the DVD's that came with your Macbook Pro and run the OS install program. restart the computer with the DVD's inside, about the second page, go up to the menu bar and select Disk Utility. from there, select "Erase." Select the Laptop hard drive and under options, select "Zero out Drive" It basically does exactly that.

once drive is "Zero'd out" reinstall OS.
