So my iMac G5 20" w/ iSight won't turn on anymore. I figured out how to get into the case (which was hard as fuck actually) and am not sure how to proceed with diagnosing the problem, but I think probably the power supply is dead.

Does anyone have good sources for replacement parts?

    Have you tried eBay?

I looked and there are some folks selling parts pulled from old computers on there. I was hoping to find a place that has new parts for a reasonable price.

I'm not sure if you could find a truly new part for this anymore. You can probably find something refurbished and backed up by some guarantee or something though.

You might try http://www.tekserve.com here in New York City. They've always been good at being able to fix old hardware for me that the Apple Store wouldn't even touch.

Before replacing the power supply, check the capacitors. They commonly bulge and cause the computer to no longer boot.

Got the power supply ($75 on ebay) and swapped it out... and my iMac is working again!

    I can't believe I didn't break anything in there.

Received an old 20" the other day, I pulled out the power supply from a 17" and cut the back to make the plug fit :o :arkansas:

It works great, upgraded mom to a 20 (from old school 15")!
