I am looking into getting a CD player for my car and also some speakers for front and back (both 6 1/2). The reciever i am currently looking at is a Aiwa

That looks cool and all, but when i went to Circuit City today they said it had been discontinued, and that made me kind of shakey about getting it, have u all heard anything about the player?

Now, to the speakers. I want a little bass, but i dont want to go out and buy all the subs and stuff. I know i wont get nearly as much bass from any speakers than i will from a sub but i want a good amount for no sub.

I am looking at these right now.....

If you all have heard anything about these good or bad please tell.

I have about a 500 dollar budget not including install. If you have any suggestions of have heard bad things about those 2 products please tell me before i order them.

    thx in advance

    aiwa sucks, mate'..

especially if your dealing w/ Circuit City! they have so much better decks.. such as Alpine and Kenwood (that I would recommend)..

you will be satisfied.. trust me

ok, since i do realize that Aiwa sucks and that is probably the reason the player is discontinued, i have started looking into 2 more.

which would u choose ? and what do you all think about those speakers?

oh yea, and i plan on gettin this from crutchfield unless they have the same prices in town. the problem isent that they dont have decks, its that all the decks are way overpriced.

Well either of the CD players would work fine. If you plan on adding a bunch of amplifiers later on, then the Rockford fosgate has more preamp outs, which would be a benifit, but I doubt you would need it that much. Basically pick the one that looks the coolest to you and has all the features you need, and buy that one.

As for those speakers, you could do a lot better for 100 dollars IMHO.

    Check these out:

Don't expect to get too much bass out of them though, I mean if you want true bass performance, frankly your gonna need a subwoofer.

np, here are some other sites you could check out:

  7. i have the model that doesn't play wma's and i think its great but i am looking for higher end headunit that does not have an amp built in because i want clean power coming form my amps

it reads mp3s pretty quick and plays regular audio cd's just fine
i think it has great features for the price
i might let mine go if the price is right...
