Help out a Scrawny White Kid.... v.notmuchtimeforgym

    So I'm looking to gain some size/muscle and just not look so scrawny...if i could add a few inches to my vert...that would be a big bonus....i'd like to get up to 200lbs or so. I'm not looking for anything crazy or dramatic.

    so...
    I'm a skinny bastard.... 6'2" 190...see pic for clarity on scrawniness

    Honestly...i dont like spending more than 45 minutes in the gym, and I dont have much time for more than that anyway. So if I could get a decent routine that was about 30-45 minutes that would be great.

    I play ball 3 to 4 times a week....for at least 2 hours per session...some days I run when I'm bored...

    So on the days I ball...and maybe one other day I'd like to start hitting the gym more seriously...

    Any suggestions on a routine or what i should do...ideally i'd like to ball for an hour or two after work...then lift for 30-45 min...2 or 3 times a week. Then on the weekends ball and work out with the wifey 1 or 2 times. (Should I work out before ball? or after?)

    Any suppliments or anything i should take? I eat like a motherfucker but cant gain any weight :dunno:

    you have a good base, too bad your not into working out cause if you put your mind to it and ate/lifted like a motherfucker you would see some good results. as far as gaining weight goes, anyone can do it so start eating 5-6 meals a day and use the noob thread for a routine

    If you are "eating like a motherfucker" and still not gaining weight... eat more.

    eat more, do compound lifts, start enjoying the gym if you want to make any gains.

    I just dont enjoy the gym enough to spend 2 hours there. I love bball and i wont take away from that time. I barely have time to fit that into my schedule...so i just want something i can do to squeeze in a good 30-45 min workout.

    I'll try and eat more.

    gotcha....i'd normally play longer...but im going to cut into the ball time a little for the gym. I just dont know if its better to work out after im a little tired from playing ball....or is it better to work out with all my engergy before balling?

    I have to wake up at 530 for work...so no morning workouts for me...

    I will have to put in more time on the weekends at the gym :bigthumb:

    Yes...its much easier to walk out my door and run than it is to go to the gym...

    I want to get results...but im not going to dedicate my life to it...i like to do other things...i dont have much free time...the little i get, i dont plan on using all of it at a gym. I will make more time for the gym...im just not going to revolve my life around it...thats all :hs:

    I know its not the optimal thing...but i'm not looking to be huge or win any contests...just get in better shape while gaining some mass :dunno:

    you'll find that the more you go lift weights, the more fun it will be and you'll want to go... i don't see it as a chore i enjoy it :)

    I enjoy it less being the skinny weak kid in the gym full of huge guys :mamoru:

    i understand...but most likely i'll be working out the same days that I ball...at least 1-2 days during the week...on the weekend i can break up the ball from the workout time

    LA Fitness....usually the one on Federal just north of Oakland.

    Sometimes i take a ride out to Oakland and university....b/c there are better games there.

    Ocasionally the new one in hollywood with the girl :hsd:

    I use to hit up the YMCA on Taft and parkroad. Its was free for me.

    were you the one that asked about Liquerdale about one year ago? Dude i moved over to cali now :madfawk:. I hate it here and can't wait for my 4 years to be over and back home.
