    Hello there-
I have a Gateway 500xl computer, and I had a ATI Radeon 9600XT video card installed a few years back, and I am getting larger Dell monitor, the 2005FPW, and I need a card that will support the large widescreen resolution of 1680x1050 (thats what I think it is).

Can anyone recommend something that would work in my computer, or should I just start building a new computer?

    3ghz chip, 1gig ram, (2) 60 gig HD's those are the specs.

I dont think I have a PCI Express slot, I think the current one is AGP, which owns me I am sure...

    Thanks for any help!

(the thing is about 3 year old)

Look for the Radeon X800 or Geforce 6800 series...I think those are as far as ATI and nVidia went with AGP cards. And yes, your 500XL is AGP. I used to sell those. :hs:

The 6600 GT will do just fine

It has a resolution up to 2048x1536 with a dvi port. I dont think you need dual ports for the 2005 , just the new 30' ones
