are the umbrellas too small though? forgive my inexperience please. I have heard these umbrellas are only big enough for headshots? too small for group shots?

I have a similar setup that Ive used at a school dance to shoot groups of 6-8 kids. Worked out well with a 480ex and a 580ex.

    I have that same kit.

Great for starting out and experimenting. Still use it mixed with other things to this day.

    Get it.

BH has a larger convertible umbrella for $19.99 with free shipping, grab one or two of those if you're worried about size, they will fit on these stands/mounts.
