Help....Network confusion

Discussion in 'OT Technology' started by Beautiful One, Dec 12, 2004.

  1. I have to write a paper recommending networks for an insurance company with a headquarters, regional offices and many small offices throughout the country. I understand how the networking is suppose to work if computers are being connected in say one office building. I am having trouble understanding how I would connect the offices to the headquarters. Is there a good website that can explain how this is done? I have researched and I have yet to come up with something that helps.

depending on their needs, a simple ADSL link to the internet at each satellite office and a VPN setup may be best. That way you have a secure link to the HQ, but you also keep costs down.

here is some information about implementing such a setup

most companies would rather do a leased line connection despite the higher cost. isdn would also be an option, at least for backup
