:wtc: wtf mates? I've tried different ISO settings, and nothing seems to work. Im using a Sony DSC-717. Is it the camera or the settings?
    :hs:

If you can aim me in the direction of a good book or something?

    Bit of both :hs:

What kind of lighting situations is this ocurring in? I would assume poorly lit conditions. . . Try using a 1 or 2 second exposure. . . ?

Welcome to the world of Sony photography :hs:

I tried using my friend's F707 for a few night shots on a tripod, and the amount of noise was absolutely incredible.... I tried to blame it on dust in the air, but we both knew the real reason :hs:

yea it seems to be in low light conditions. I'm thinking about selling it and going with the Nikon D70 or Canon 300D.

I'm bummed because it seemed to do really well in low light conditions using long exposures.

Did you even switch it over to night mode?

You must be doing something wrong because I never had any problems with my 707.:dunno:

Here's a 30 second night exposure and I don't see any problems with noise. It was nearly pitch black when I took this shot.
