I have a Mac Pro with a 4 drive RAID-0 (yeah I know, risky, but I keep a good backup). And since I upgraded to Snow Leopard, various files are:

    1. Getting corrupted (movies go to 0KB or no longer play)
    2. "Switching" with each other. I opened Donny Darko, and it played a DMX mp3 :eek3: The other day I also played a Talib Kweli track, and heard some trance music I forgot I had.

    Wtf! Any ideas?

Seems like your raid is on the way out....

    Backup and reroll.

    EDIT: DURRRRR.

Repair permissions and the disk in Disk utility. Try performing the disk repair from another mac through Target mode.

Done the permissions and disk repair...no results. Do raid's just flake out like that, without a drive failing?

If I reinstall without the raid, and split my shit across the 4 drives, will I notice a performance hit? Probably the biggest file activity I do is copying stuff back and forth, and video encoding.

is the music problem happening in itunes? if so it could be that the itunes library file may be corrupt, its a pretty simple troubleshooting step and this may fix it, you never know, its worth a shot
