Looking into getting some simple stuff for an off camera lighting setup.

    This is what I want.

Two softboxes (at least 24 inches)
Two stands with shoe mounts for my Sb-600 and Sb-80dx

For some reason I'm having trouble finding this, any advice?

awesome, thanks for the advice.

I trust your recommendations on lighting.

The swivel you say is "big bucks" is $15... that's not too bad, I'd rather just spend the 15 than rig some half ass thing together... or was it something else that you're saying I'll need to make.

no, the swivel is cheap... but they make this thing that is a attachment for a soft box to hot shoe that's expensive... but you can make one yourself pretty cheaply. you can make it with some flat stock pretty easily.

I like the standard light stands. I just don't like the air cushioning... no real technical reasoning behind it.. I just don't prefer them.
