Help me with my workout and eating please!

    I am a 155-160lbs, 6'1"-2" male.

    Currently I hit the gym 3x a week and I run 5-6x a week.

    Gym Day 1
    Chest and Tris
    Gym Day 2
    Bicepts and Back,
    Gym Day 3
    Shoulders
    + ??

    Also taking Whey Protien after workouts...

    For running, I run anywhere from 3-6miles a day. On days I'm super stressed out I will run 12+. I LOVE to run, its something I wish I could do 24/7, but I have a messed up knee so I can't.


    For eating...

    Lunch is normally a burger with fries, chicken nuggets, salad + meat, and 2 glasses of 2% milk. (Some days instead of a burger I get the special which is chicken or some other form of beef).

    Dinner is Beef or Chicken patty w/ chicken nuggets, pasta, and 2-4 glasses of milk or water.

    I drink water through out the day... not 100% sure how much... but it seems like I go through 4-6 Liters a day of water on top of meals.


    Now my problem...

    I can't gain weight, I have a fast metabolism. So even when I didn't work out for a solid 6 months, I never gained a pound and never got fat. When I do work out and run, I gain 5-10lbs and then stop gaining weight. I get stronger, but I just don't gain weight. Yes my strength does hit a wall, where it takes weeks for me to increase the amount of weight I lift.

    I always get faster at running, and I improve really fast at running. If it wasn't for my busted knee I could run 5min miles no problem, but something happense and I'm forced to slow down or just give up walking the next day. If I had to, I could run a 5k in about 15-18mins.

    1. You don't eat a lot.
    2. Running that much is detrimental to gaining muscle.
    3. Train your legs.

    Theres a bunch of ways to help increase your caloric intake, but as I'm coaching my friend to do right now, eat faster and try fit more and more in before you get full. And once you get full, eat more. It's okay to be uncomfortable, you can just go lay on the couch and take a nap (more sleep is good when bulking anyways).

    As for advice on the whole, take what Ceaze says to heart.

    I figure when you said "train legs", like go lift weights w/ my legs, instead of doing sprints and long distance...

    Like I said if it wasn't for my knee problem, I could run non-stop, but evntually the pain gets to me before my endurance gives out. I can run 30mins at a 7min pace before I get pain, or sprint 1 mile at my fastests, before I pass out from the pain.

    6'1" 155 :eek3:, damn nigga fuck cardio! hit dat weight + 4k worth of calories a day, you a skinny nigga.

    Hmmm.....your diet kinda sucks. Kill the burger, fries and chicken nuggets. Chicken breast is your best friend in the meat department. Pasta as long as you don't eat it too late in the evening. Lots of carbs before working out and lots of protien after you work out.

    You can run all you want if you eat right.

    I'm at college, they serve chicken breast maybe once a month top. Food here is really crappy, I'm doing my best to eat right with the little they offer.

    Also I'm a freshmen, So I am forced to eat 100% of my meals on campus or else I'd be in massive debt from a food bill.

    stop running so much! Have you ever had your knee checked out by an ortho?

    Yes, I get stress fractures from running so much. I also have "bumps" right below my knee from bone breaking and healing.

    just eat a shit load of food. drink whole milk eat cottage cheese (im sure they have that).

    I just started drinking whole milk, had 4 cups so far, this stuff isn't as bad as ppl make it out to be.

    Heh, With that menu I'd acctually say don't eat alot. What little is not empty carbs has so much fat in it you'll just end up hardening your arteries.

    try and eat lotsa salad and meat, im sure there are some plain chicken breasts for you to eat
