She is 5'2" and weighs about 118. She wants to tone up and maybe cut 5 or so pounds by mid-march (spring break). She has had a trainer in the past and is used to working out but just needs a little direction. I can give her good advice on eating but I'm not too up on what mix of running/cardio & weight lifting women should do. Should I just have her do some of the same exercises I do plus some treadmill?

That is an excellent article. :) I've been lifting free weights for near 2 months now and I have noticed a huge change in the strength of my legs and arms already. I am not lifting huge amounts but it's a start and I should start to make some serious gains soon.

So far squats are my favourite and my arse is looking very nice indeed.

This article helped me some to understand what aspects I was missing in my training: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/aja1.htm
