I'm looking to make some room in my safe, and since I have several AK's, this one goes to the auction block, but I don't know what to ask for it.

    AK-47 MAK 90
Made in China, manufactured/stamped by Norinco
fires the AK standard 7.62x39 ammo

Brand new in the box, never been fired. A few of the accessories were still in packing grease. I just took them out to photograph them.

    Comes with:
    2 x 5 rd magazine
30 rd magazine (I'm throwing this in)
    Cleaning rod
    Cleaning kit
    AK breakdown tool
    oil canister
    shoulder strap
    and the original box.
    Shoots 7.62x39

    Actual gun:

The only one I see on gunbroker is going for $950. There's another with more accesories with it going for $1300. wtf?

Thanks. Throw out a number, so I know what to ask. What do you think a truly fair price would be?

I'm not looking to rape anyone on it, just get a good market value out of it. Is $600 too much?

Yep, I would say in the current climate you could probably get $750-$900 for that. It looks nice BTW, mint. :)

If you're not in a rush I would put it up on gunbroker at $800-900. I think it is possible you'll get that even if it takes a few relistings.

I bought mine for $190 back in the 90s. Recently at the gun shows I haven't seen them for under $600. I'm willing to be in that condition you could get at least $700 or more in person. Auction sites I wouldn't be surprised if that one gets over $1000.

    I'll give you $500 for it. :x:

I wouldn't pay more than $400 bucks for any Ak especially a MAK90 or a Century. Once this negro gets boo'd out of office things will return to normal.

Are you kidding me? The only reason things have gone up in price was due to the rumor that our resident darky President was going to ban "assault weapons." Do you really think there is a shortage of any of this shit? Do you think there is a shortage of AR lowers? Do you think that somehow mysterically the major AR manufacturers just stopped making lowers and Century stopped importing shitty AKs? There is not a shortage of shit, just word of mouth in the Internet claiming that guns are going to be banned so lets do a price hike.

What caused it is irrelevant. This conversation is about supply & demand, not cause & effect. There are plenty of other threads dealing with the cause of the price hikes.

demand skyrocketed, supply remained steady and thus, prices rose.

A MAK isn't Century, it's Norinco, and their AK's have always comanded a premium. An original, untouched, MAK with the original packaging is worth more than the "400 you'd pay for an AK" Obama or not.

To the OP, I'd list it on Gunbroker with a starting bid of the minimum you'd accept and let it ride. I wouldn't be suprised if you get $800+ for it.

Bullshit, Mak90s have never "commanded a premium" maybe you should check your sources, preban Norincos "commanded a premium," not chopped mak90s.

Chinese MAK90's with the thumbhole stock during the most recent AWB were not desirable guns then or now. If it had a pistol grip, maybe.

That's why I'm struggling with the price on this. On one hand, its an AK for sale during a rush on all things that will eventually be considered "assault weapons." :greddy: On the other hand, its still a stock MAK90 from the weapons ban days.
