what are you trying to speed up? Some applications require certain ports to acheive optimum speeds. BitTorrent is one example. However, this will not help web surfing or other common tasks.

    "make it faster"

what do you mean? what makes you think it's slow? when is it slow, when uploading/downloading/transfering between PCs? what hardware do you have? how is the client on the PC configured (windows zero config or the client adapter software)? do you haven encryption turned on? how did you determine it's "slow"? was it ever "faster" and now it's "slow" or do you just "feel like it's too slow"? are there other PCs on this network? are they "fast"? are they wired or wireless?

    etc, etc, etc.
